Modern Slavery Statement

This is the Modern Slavery Statement for LAK CONSULTING GROUP and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “LAK CONSULTING GROUP”, “us”, “our” or “we”).

LAK CONSULTING GROUP is publishing this statement to explain the work we have completed to date to combat modern slavery within our business and the steps we intend to take over the coming years.

LAK CONSULTING GROUP believes in the importance of equality in the workplace as defined by our Ethical Code of Conduct and Ethical Recruitment Code of Conduct. We expect these same high standards from our cooperating partners and suppliers (collectively, the “Partners”), and we are committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business and the supply chain.

LAK CONSULTING GROUP expects that employees of our Partners, whether permanent or temporary, to have the same basic rights to be treated with respect and dignity at work as our employees. We believe that (i) employment should be chosen, there must be no (ii) forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, and employees must not be (iii) required to lodge monies or identity papers in order to work and must be (iv) free to leave employment after the giving of reasonable notice.

Background

LAK CONSULTING GROUP is an international advisory and specialist recruitment consultancy. As a provider of recruitment services, we consider our supply chain to be relatively simple as we work with a small range of Partners who provide goods and services across several different categories, such as property and facilities management, IT and telecoms, marketing, legal and other services. Therefore, we have close relationships with our Partners and good visibility of our supply chain.

LAK CONSULTING GROUP performed a risk assessment of its supply chain and Partners and considers that there is a relatively low risk of labour exploitation or other forms of slavery and human trafficking occurring within it. Nevertheless, LAK CONSULTING GROUP is committed to preventing these practices from occurring within both our business and supply chain, which is demonstrated by our policies and due diligence procedures as outlined below.

Policy on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking

LAK CONSULTING GROUP requires its Partners to comply with our Ethical Code of Conduct and Ethical Recruitment Code of Conduct which reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in our business dealings and relationships and to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our business and supply chain.

Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

LAK CONSULTING GROUP prohibits the use of all forms of forced labour and any form of human trafficking. We have procedures in place with our employees to proactively manage any risk, including robust recruitment processes in line with all employment laws of the countries we operate in.

LAK CONSULTING GROUP employees, through our Ethical Code of Conduct and Ethical Recruitment Code of Conduct, are made aware of our requirement for employees to support and uphold human rights principles and know that LAK CONSULTING GROUP will not tolerate, engage in or support the use of forced labour. Employees are strongly encouraged to report any concerns.

To reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring within our supply chain LAK CONSULTING GROUP assessed all current Partners and found no evidence that one of them has failed to comply with this Modern Slavery Statement and the United Kingdom’s Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Risk and Compliance

LAK CONSULTING GROUP core business is focused on the provision of consulting and recruitment services of highly trained professionals, rather than in employees for agriculture, retail, or manufacturing sectors which are perceived to present a higher risk of labour exploitation and modern slavery. We, therefore, do not consider that LAK CONSULTING GROUP operates in a high-risk sector. This evaluation process will continue annually.

Given our view that LAK CONSULTING GROUP exposure to modern slavery risk is limited, we will nevertheless (i) continue to monitor the risk to our supply chain and our Partners on an ongoing basis and (ii) provide training of all employees to ensure a high level of understanding and awareness of the risks of modern slavery.

This statement is made in accordance with section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 of the United Kingdom and constitutes LAK CONSULTING GROUP slavery and human trafficking statement.

If this Modern Slavery Statement is available in other languages, the English version is the governing version and shall prevail whenever there is a discrepancy between the two versions.
